nineteenth wish ☆ why so cold

[ Madoka spent the first day in her room. The lights were out and it was really cold, but she had her mountain of stuffed animals to keep her company. Some of them are even recent regains from home and she wanted some time for the plush army to get to know each other.

Plus she had something to do. She had intended from the start to give her friends hand-knitted scarves for Christmas and this was just one more reason to hurry up. There's nothing wrong with giving a gift early, right? ]

Okay... good. Everyone, I need you to go in here.  [ She puts some of the stuffed animals and scarves in her school bag before heading to the door. ] It'll be okay! I'll make it okay!

[ Action ☆ Locked to Mami ]
[ Madoka's first concern was to take care of her droned Meguca buddies. She'd given scarves to Sayaka-drone and Kyouko-drone already and made sure they were bundled up against the cold (and checked that they weren't "broken"). Now she's chasing after Mami, thinking that her popular friend is still a drone. ]
Um-! Excuse me! Mami-sa--- Mami!!!  [ She corrects herself, for the sake of her "drone" friend. ] Good morning, um! Um, it's... it's chilly out so... Here! [ And offers her a bright yellow scarf. ] Are those gloves warm enough? H-here, maybe we should trade...

[ Action ☆ High School . Open ]
[ Madoka will be doing similar things for the rest of her friends. If you've talked to her even once then you can expect for Madoka to approach you at some point during the day. ]
There you are-! Good, um... um, are you warm enough? Here. [ And she'll offer you one of the stuffed animals she brought to school with her. ] To, um... it's not much, but he'll keep you company and maybe, um... keep you warmer? [ Sob, she feels bad for not having scarves for everyone... but this is the least that she can do!

By this point in the day, Madoka has probably given her gloves away to drones out of concern and is probably coatless. Because she's Madoka. ]

Oh, but! [ Ruri is one of the people whose scarf she finished, so Madoka will offer her a purple scarf and stuffed animal. ] Here!

Are you sure it would be okay for me to take this? It's a friend of yours, after all.

[Mirai has been sitting on the sidelines, watching all of this, but now she's seriously becoming irritated. She points at Madoka, yelling:]

Hey! What do you think you're doing!? You can't just give all of your clothes away like that!

Aaron has a loose fitting coat, no gloves or scarves. He does look cold, but that hasn't killed his mood yet.

He smiles and shakes his head at her offer.]]

I'm okay, you're going to need it.

I might have some extra gloves if you can't find you're own.

[[It helps when he can change into something much warmer without the need for extra clothes.]]

[Mami is walking more out of a need for some kind of movement, no matter how empty and purposeless, rather than with any clear destination in mind. Trying to find some relief, some small measure of escape from her vicious thoughts by letting the bitter chill numb her through and though. Madoka's words come to her as if from somewhere far away, breaking through the depressive haze clouding her mind. She slows to a halt, unable to deny that voice, and is momentarily overwhelmed by a rush of shame. Ciel had told her that Madoka was still here; the surprise was being addressed so kindly by the younger girl once more, spoken to with a warmth that made her ache.

She wearily turns to face Madoka.]

Ah....Kaname-san. [A small, tired nod; she accepts the scarf with a dull curiosity, her smile intact but hollow, the look in her gold eyes blank and faraway.] It's good to see you again. [She winces inwardly.] Is this for me?

[The veneer of calmness that coats everything she does is more unnatural than ever, as if Mami had never left - as if she wasn't now cruelly aware of her own death - as if this meeting was completely normal for her and not painful in the slightest.]

Mm. It's for you. You should stay warm, Mami-sa...

[ She stops mid sentence. Having almost tacted a "san" to the end of her friend's name and then realized Mami had done the same for her. Not just that, but she knew Madoka's real last name now. She's not smiling that strange smile like a drone would either.

Madoka goes silent for a solid minute. Sorting through a complex bundle of confused feelings. Mami's not acting like a drone and there's one obvious answer for why not. An answer that Madoka wants to be true, because she's missed Mami like crazy. ]

Ma... Mami-san? Are... is that you?

....yes, it is. [Her throat constricts.] Strange, huh?

[The understatement of the year, really.

A heavy pause, and for a moment it seems as though Mami is about to say something more. But then her eyes just go glassy and she loops the scarf tenderly around Madoka's neck.] However, I think you'll need this more than me. I'm not cold at all, so....

[ And then she offers him the stuffed animal, and he just kind of stares. ] If anyone needs to be warmer, sugar, it's you. [ But it takes it anyway and sets it on his shoulder. ]

Cats... can handle cold weather better than they can the heat, but they've found shelter where they can, from what they've told me. Still, I've been trying to bring them food when I can.
